Mr. Kennedy Says It’s Not His Fault His Doctor Was A Quack

Written by sideshowraheem on December 2nd, 2007 in Uncategorized.

An interview with Ken Kennedy was published in the Charleston Post-Courier yesterday. When asked about the suspension due to his name showing up on the Signature Pharmacy list Kennedy had this to say:

“I had a legitimate medical reason to have it. How was I supposed to know my doctor’s a quack? I was injured and had a legitimate reason. I tore my lat in 2005. I had surgery, went home and had a staph infection that I almost died from. I lost about 45 pounds in about three days. I had a legitimate medical reason for having it, however my name turned up on that list. Vince and the company’s hands were tied. They had to suspend me….It’s one of those things. But stuff happens in this business. I’m going to learn from my mistakes. I’m not going to make that same mistake again. I’m just going to keep pushing on and moving forward.”

This is an interesting excuse but I’m not sure I’m completely buying it. Kennedy was severely injured and did have a staff infection but if these injuries did require the use of steroids or other human growth hormones then shouldn’t they have been prescribed by the doctor that treated and operated on him not this shady Internet site. It’s not the steroid use that bothers me(these are grown men that know the consequences of there actions) what bothers me is the crazy stories that these guys come up with after there caught. Kennedy says he needed the drugs due to an injury, Chris Masters says he doesn’t know how he failed that second test and Booker T even said during a recent TNA conference call interview he may have been the victim of a conspiracy(here’s the link). Do these guys honestly think were that stupid? Anyway, you can read the full article on Mr. Kennedy’s official web site.

I think there’s some truth in there. He was probably prescribed it, but wanted a higher quantity to “heal faster” as some guys look at it. That’s probably why he went to Signature Pharm: To increase his doses for a quicker return.

As for the other guys, there’s truth to them, as well.

Masters probably just hadn’t detoxed enough when they gave him his secondary test after returning from the first suspension. That makes sense.

Booker’s the only one I believe fully. Couldn’t tell you why, but I just have a strong feeling about it.

  2. sideshowRaheem Says:

That’s funny Jade because Booker is the one I believe the least. I’m sorry Booker but when you start throwing the word conspiracy out there you better have some solid evidence or you look like a complete lunatic. If I was Booker and I felt like the WWE suspended me unjustly because I wasn’t getting along with management I would be filing a law suite not for the money but to clear my name.

  3. Jade Says:

It’s kind of hard to win a lawsuit on hearsay. That, and when is the last time you heard of a wrestler suing because he was held back (other than Kanyon).

The internet has a slightly different definition of conspiracy than the rest of the world. I can understand if he thinks management held him back. I think they did, too. He only got what he wanted (main event push and KotR) when he threatened to just quit.

    Kennedy is full of shit!

  5. Kanadian Says:

i have a tendency to believe guys who give excusses. i agree with jade that he probs wanted to come back faster and suych sonhe bought more from signature, but i think he did start using cause of the injury. that would sort of work for me for what he said in the wrestleview interview. maybe im to gullible (sp?), but i think you should give people the benifit of the dought a little more lex, but thats just me.

  6. mollie d. Says:

First off I have never heard of giving steroids for Staph Infection. Please, he is lying through his mike from the ceiling. I agree about Booker T. I think there is a conspiracy of sorts going on. It’s one of those your either in or not things. Secondly, He may have wanted the higher doses to heal quicker, but to me that is just an excuse to get more dope. No wonder he almost died. The dumb ass was taking roids and a sulfer based antibiotic at the same time. Dumb Dumb. What ever doctor he was using needs to be suied. How do I know about Staph Infection? Lets see I’ve had it before and it was awful, but I’ve lived through far worse. Like Oh I don’t know try surgery when you can feel them cut into your gut. I would say that is worse so I have no sympathy for him at all. He needs to get his head out of his ass and get real.

  7. Kanadian Says:

i think his point was that he needed to gain weight with the percrition roids, so that does make sence. the booker thing is bullshit, and i think book was saying the conspiracy thing as a joke. he was caught buying drugs and didnt want to get suspended but did, then he was mad that he got burried by HHH so he wants to say he is mad at wwe. there is no “conspiracy”.

  8. sideshowRaheem Says:

Lets say Kennedy did get the steroids to heel faster witch I don’t believe, it’s still illegal and stupid to buy prescription drugs with out a legit prescription even if you need them for a legit reason. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt to that’s why I hate it when people just look at people like Batista, Lashley and Cena and assume they’re on something just because they’re big guys but once you get caught red handed I can no longer assume your innocent.

  9. Mr Happy Says:

Kennedy probably was being given steriods by perscription and the dates add up but roids are roids.

Personally I don’t care though as far as I’m concerned almost all wrestlers are on roids it really isn’t a big deal
