Billed as the “World’s Largest Toga Party” Wrestlemania IX emanated from Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, this would be the first Wrestlemania to take place at an outside open air venue and also was the WWE debut of Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross. Bret Hart defended the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania IX, making him the first Superstar to compete for three different titles at three consecutive Wrestlemania events at Wrestlemania VII he and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart defended their World Tag Team Championship, and at Wrestlemania VIII, he defeated Roddy Piper for the Intercontinental Championship. The WWE Championship changed hands twice at that night. First, Yokozuna defeated Bret Hart, and moments later, Hulk Hogan in his second match of the night defeated Yokozuna. As he left the WWE for WCW Hogan wouldn’t appear at another Wrestlemania for nine years.

this is probably the worst card, and has to be the worst PPV finish ever!

Lol, first Wrestlemania I ever watched, on a crappy VHS so only have fond memories of it. Steiners match was brilliant. That’s what a frankensteiner is! None of this top rope rubbish

When I was still a young-know-it-all mark, this was my favorite WM. But now that I see it, the only thing I really like about it is the production set up.
