TNA Impact! Discussion: Mick Foley’s Debut

Written by Lex on September 18th, 2008 in Live Discussion, TNA.

Now that No Surrender is in the books, TNA has a clean slate: tonigh’s Impact! starts the build to Bound for Glory, their biggest show of the year.

Tonight also marks the debut of Mick Foley on Impact!, so I know you’ll want to tune in for that.

TNA has announced the following matches for tonight’s show:

  • The Motor City Machineguns v. AJ Styles and Christian Cage
  • Jay Lethal v. Booker T
  • Taylor Wilde and Rhino v. Velvet Sky and “Cute” Kip (wow, how embarrassing is that gimmick? I mean, seriously, first Billy and Chuck, and now this?)

Discuss TNA Impact! here.

  9. Kanadian Says:

i was watching ramsey on fox, i flipped to tna in a commercial and it was the super-shit-heros. I don’t like them. maybe i just tuned in at the wrong time. i’ve been watching this second hour, but i’m very tired, haven’t been paying much attention.

  10. jmart Says:

wow everyone should be watching this interview with jarret n sting its freaking great

  11. jmart Says:

man i hope people watched that it was prob the best impact all yr long

  12. DynamiteKid Says:

yup, great impact. Angle gets genuinely involved and worked up when doing his promos. You could feel the intensity. I was hoping that Foley was going to come out as Cactus Jack the heel and take out Jarrett from behind. As a face he will suck, plus he doesn’t fit with the young guys at all.

  13. SCMike Says:

    GREAT iMPACT?

I guess Rockband will be put on hold tonight for iMPACT. And if I don’t enjoy it , why I oughta!!!

  14. Kanadian Says:

quite the good ending, when kurt challenged jarret i thought that would be a match i would be interested in paying for, that part of kurt’s promo was the highlight. I think they might have actually put a damper on the ending using foley, but we’ll see. i’ll have to watch the whole thing next week.

  15. Rob Dib Says:

Foley should have been a damn heel. Yet.. it was an Impact worth watching. Jarrett did such a good job I thought Sting was gonna cry.

best ending to impact since “AJ GOT KILLED”

I only saw the last promo Jarrett was good, so was Kurt

    AND WHY WOULDNT THEY BE?>

  17. SCMike Says:

Apparently, i’ll miss the beggining of iMPACT, I’m stuck in traffic. I really want to see it, it is MMG v. Christian and some guy, and MMG and them have a pull apart.

I hope I’m not disappointed by this iMPACT. You all have hyped it up too much for me not to enjoy it.

    AND WHY WHOULDN’T YOU!?!?!?!

  18. Jade Says:

Very good Impact. I missed the last 20 minutes because I had to leave for work. How was Foley’s debut? What did they do?

  19. Kanadian Says:

jade, they just had jarret say something to kurt then point to the screen which had a foley smiley face then they had foley cut a pretaped promo

  20. Jade Says:

    That’s no fun :(

I have not seen the last 30 minutes of the show, but the first hour and a half was solid. TNA has a fresh start here leading up to Bound For Glory…let’s hope they don’t screw it up. A lot of people are complaining about Sting being in the main event, but you have to hand it to him–he had an excellent match in last year’s BFG main event, so I expect nothing less this year. It helps that he’s wrestling Joe. Sting may not be able to go like he used to, but I guarantee he still understands how to build drama in a wrestling match.

As for Mick Foley…were they hinting at him wrestling? If so…eesh.

  22. Mike Says:

I just watched impact and thought it was pretty solid except for the really cheesy ending with foley on the tron, but hopefully they book this veterans vs young guys storyline well cuz all the promos have been really great.
