Tonight’s episode of TNA Impact! is live from Las Vegas, and unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Mick Foley is going to make an announcement that will “change the face of wrestling forever.” Seriously, the publicity for this is everywhere. If you didn’t know about the announcement from the Google AdSense ads on this blog, you’ve probably heard about it on a radio ad or seen it on a billboard somewhere. This announcement better be good!

In addition to Foley’s announcement, Booker T will reveal what’s in his briefcase. Several matches have also been announced for the show:

  • Main Event: Sting and Kevin Nash v. Samoa Joe and AJ Styles
  • X Division Championship: Jay Lethal v. Sheik Abdul Bashir(c)
  • Knockouts Women’s Championship: Awesome Kong v. Taylor Wilde(c)
  • Christy Hemme v. One of the Beautiful People

There’s one more match so confusing I can’t even manage to figure out how to put it on that list. Therefore, I’ll just use TNA’s description from their Impact! preview:

It will be TNA World Tag Team Champions Beer Money vs. Team 3D vs. Matt Morgan & Abyss vs. LAX in a “Hard Rock Hardcore Tag Team Text-off Gauntlet”

Fans decide the order that the eight TNA wrestlers will enter the ring for the “Hard Rock Hardcore Text Off Gauntlet”. From now until Thursday October 23rd at 9pmET fans can pick the order of the wrestlers that will under the Gauntlet. The order will be determined with the wrestler with the fewest votes entering first, with the wrestler with the most text votes being the last to enter the ring. Im going to catch the start of this tonight, if i dont fall asleep ill try and watch it all but it doesnt finish till 4am and i need to be up by like 11 tommorow, im more interested in seeing the changes to the production and overall feel of the show more than any ‘announcments’ or matches, tna have a chance to reinvent themselves tonight, doubt they’ll take it though.

seeing as I dont watch RAW anymore never get to catch ECW guess smackdown! is all I watch so i may as well give TNA a chance ( i used to love TNA when they did the weekly shows on the wrestling channel and i even liked impact untill it moved to spike, then it was all downhill from there.

who wants to bet the show starts with that ominous sounding guy babblin on about change and how tonight will be historic and all that shit?

mick foley announcment any guesses? i reckon he announces he’ll be wrestling a match. or some ex wwe guy is coming in, maybe micks announcing TNA’s new singings The Highlanders.

  2. jsnwwf Says:

How does Curryman and MCMG not make this show?

Christian and AJ missed last weeks show

I was like “What the fuck?!?!” when I didnt see them

Also HBK wasnt on RAW even though he is in the main storyline

What I heard is that the voting was close between him and Austin to be the special guest referee and WWE is trying to sway things Austin’s way by not having him on TV

    I HOPE THAT ISNT TRUE

Vince screwed the fans that didnt get to see HBK Live unless there was a dark match

    back to impact

Am I the only one that will watch this?

I am sure that there will be less ’straight to the back’ qoutes

Last time TNA had live impact show, R Roode gave the slowest promo I have ever scene

Probably because he didnt want to mess up his lines :)

  3. Lex Says:

I will watch it, but I’ll probably fall asleep halfway through…hopefully it will be a good show.

  4. SCMike Says:

“…you’ve probably heard about it on a radio ad or seen it on a billboard somewhere. This announcement better be good!”

Really? I need to listen to more FM radio, then. Actually no, I’m fine without it.

I’ll watch this, I hope I don’t get upset at the booking and shit, or I’ll just this off, like I have before whilst watching iMPACT! If anything, I expect more rasslin’ tonight, so they can show off their HD goodness. Oh wait, my hopes have been shot down. TNA finds a way to mess everything up. They’ve been doing so for about a year and a half. The company has been just awful 6months after Angle’s first appearance in Sep. 2006. But rest assured, I’ll be watching intently with hopes of them doing a good iMPACT! for once.

    Also, butts.

  5. graant Says:

Tbh jsn if i’d spent loads of money securing steve austin for a show i’d do whatever I could to make sure he ends up in the role thats for him

and maybe theyre trying to keep things quiet on the hbk/jericho front for a few weeks to stretch the fued out a bit longer. I hope the fued goes to mania. People may say oh it will get boring and all that shit, in the eighties long fueds worked fine (different landscape though i suppose) and in the attitude era The Rock and Triple H must of been fueding for at least a year.

  6. El Nagual Says:

What’s up guys! This annoncement better be good, I plan to watch the whole thing. Booker T is pissing me off with his Respect shit.

  7. jsnwwf Says:

lol at Jeremy Borash slow talking

    doesnt wanna fuck up. LOL

    Where is Christian?.

We were an inch wanna from seeing Christy’s nipple when he bounced out the ring

it will be on youtube in a few hours, im sure

    “RESPECT!” Booker T

    lol

  8. El Nagual Says:

    Sting heel? Interesting.

  9. jsnwwf Says:

I gotta say, so far SO GOOD! That was a great group promo!

  10. jsnwwf Says:

The Main Event Mafia, I like!!!

  11. El Nagual Says:

MEM!!! Horsemen on Crack is a better name.

  12. jsnwwf Says:

Maybe Edge, Kennedy, RVD or Goldberg

    ^^^^^LOL^^^^^

Seriously, Jarrett said that something would happen BIG that will change wrestling at Bound for Glory in promos a month -2 weeks before the actual BGF PPV

maybe they booked the BIG announcement to this iMPACT

  13. graant Says:

holy shit TNA hit gold with that promo, this could be the angle that really helps elevate TNA.

Main event mafia is a shit name but I think thats the idea, just think about it, the name will help draw heat and it made the guys look like jackasses, so did booker t shouting respect everytime someone else said it, it sounded annoying and stupid but its all a heat thing

  14. Lex Says:

Faction warfare…I like it. I haven’t decided if I like the name yet or not….hmm…”Main Event Mafia…”

I thought they were going to call themselves the “Lions” for a second. That might have been cool.

But yeah, so far, definitely a good new direction, that was a great promo.

  15. Lex Says:

The “respect” thing was cracking me up…it was made that much funnier because you couldn’t see him on camera.

  16. El Nagual Says:

LOL!! I had a VW just like that one a few years ago!

  17. Lex Says:

Do any of ya’ll actually get Spike in HD yet? Verizon just added a ton of new HD channels, but no Spike, ugh. I know DirectTV has it, but that’s the only company I can see so far that carries it.

  18. graant Says:

wtf booker t’s getting cheered and chanted at. did the live crowwd just see that segment?

  19. El Nagual Says:

    Says Legends on it.

  20. El Nagual Says:

    Nice belt

  21. El Nagual Says:

There goes the Respect word again.

  22. jsnwwf Says:

    lol @ at that swerve

making the viewers think that Foley was coming from the limo

    good show so far

  23. jsnwwf Says:

    is this their new set?

im liking the big ass screen/titantron

  24. Lex Says:

    Lil Jon!

  25. graant Says:

the venue configuration is a bit dull, why have the hard camera facing the section theres about 20 people in? i’d have it facing the balcony bit.

i cant believe this is a tna show, so far so good, not cluttered.

  26. jsnwwf Says:

    wtf? 3 min title match?

  27. jsnwwf Says:

    AJ = bad promo cutter

  28. graant Says:

this shows going to be very angle heavy, we’ve only had 2 short matches in the first 3rd of the show. i’d be suprised if the first one went over 4 minutes

  29. jsnwwf Says:

AJ and Styles were both wearing white

I think that white will be the color of the young faction

white also is the best coloring when blading

  30. graant Says:

I think aj’s accent makes it impossible to take him serious

  31. graant Says:

thats an old plot device years old, good guys wear white bad guys wear black, it helps for the viewer to sub consiously realize whos face and whos heel

  32. graant Says:

wow rhino still has a job?

  33. graant Says:

that new impact theme song is already annoying me, and davaris new gimmick is too politically incorrect, they crossed the line too much with that

  34. jsnwwf Says:

im sure that TNA didnt even get 200 votes

  35. Rob Dib Says:

That Legends belt is sick. They should just scrap the TNA Heavyweight Title and use that.

    Rob Dib
    http://www.prowrestling-gear.com

  36. jsnwwf Says:

i think the voting here is rigged

I thought that Homicide and Abyss would be the last ones to join

    Who is voting for Morgan

I didnt know that this was a battle royal until just now

  37. jsnwwf Says:

    beer spit = finisher?

    haha, wtf

  38. SCMike Says:

“That Legends belt is sick. They should just scrap the TNA Heavyweight Title and use that.”

Uhm, I have yet to see the show, it starts in about less than 2 hours. But, did a belt really just knock off the granddaddy of them all as far as belts? This belt better look good if it’s “scrapping teh World Title” for.

Also, so far, sounds like a good show, now I’m pretty excited. :)

  39. The Original Nick Says:

I like this set better than the one in the Impact Zone.

  40. Kanadian Says:

Pretty ok show so far. Pumped to see Kong win. Hopefully the main event is good.

I thought the legends belt was a little too spinna belt-like with all the jewels, but the plate’s are nice and I dig the red.

  41. jsnwwf Says:

I was right at the PPV!

Either Foley to replace Don West or Cornette

  42. jsnwwf Says:

What else would they have done with Foley if he wasnt going wrestle on a regular basis? Announcer or GM was the only good options

    Don West got lucky, DAMN

  43. Kanadian Says:

lol, i hear that jsn, i dont know why they keep west on, he is terrible.

  44. Lex Says:

Best episode of Impact! in a long time. In fact, best wrestling TV show in a while. Hopefully TNA can continue the trend, but their track record isn’t too good.

It’s amazing how much getting the show out of the Impact! zone helped…

  45. SCMike Says:

    Meh show.

  46. Pole Foam Says:

45 comments for TNA Impact, looking good.

  47. Lex Says:

There wasn’t a lot of wrestling PF, but the storyline development was great. I think they really needed that.

  48. jmart Says:

i didn’t like the stage set up or the sound quality of it it felt like i was watching a indi show

  49. Kanadian Says:

I would say the storylines on the show were mostly good. Booker’s accent is still ruining him for me, it’s a real big distraction, though Book and Christian’s promo was good aside from Cage’s stupid Dave Chapelle Li’l Jon impression. To me that’s still funny to watch those skits, but it’s been so over used everywhere the past 3 or 4 years, it’s not really funny in person and certainly not funny when a parody of chepelle’s parody is done, whether it be TNA or Scary Movie 4. but the show was generally enjoyable.

  50. mollie d. Says:

So what was the big announcement? I’ve scimmed through here, and I don’t see it. I feel asleep watching TV last night and missed it.

  51. Pole Foam Says:

    Lex,

Storylines are great interest of mine and will be watching Impact tonight when it airs over here.

  52. Lex Says:

    Mollie,

Mick Foley is now “part-owner” of TNA.

    PF,

Let us know what you think…I’m betting you will like it.

  53. SCMike Says:

Yea, I want to mention CC’s Lil Jon mention.

I sat with my stepdad just mouth agape. isn’t that meme like - I don’t know - 4 or 5 years old? Are you 50? What are you 90?

Not to mention, it was never taht funny to begin with.

  54. 313rd Perfectionist Says:

I just finished watching TNA off the DVR. A few afterthoughts come to mind about the show:

    1. Booker’s raspy ass “African” accent is stupid.

    2. The MCMGs aren’t on a show is stupid booking.

    3. I like the Beer Money shirt.

    4. When did Abyss and Morgan become “best” friends?

    5. The venue looks like an arena off the video game.

    6. I can’t believe TNA is actually pushing for this Suicide character. Are they trying to bring back the Monster Division?
