Yeah, obviously nothing can top Jericho’s debut. That Millennium clock was one of the best things that WWE ever did, and the fact that most knew it was Jericho and were that excited by it made it even better. Plus, just the way he came out acting like a total tool…greatness.

    My comments -

    10. I remember saying “OH SHIT!” when I first saw it.
    9. Nothing real memorable other than “Oh yeah, he did wear that derby for a while…”
    8. “Wha–” then I went into hysterics.
    7. I remember when Show came out, I said, “Uhm, ok?”
    6. Remember thinking “Yea, this guy will probably only last like 1 month.”
    5. Fuck the Undertaker.
    4. Mouth agape when I saw it. Did he really use Back in Black? HMPH.
    3. Thought it was a cool character at first, then fizzled out.
    2. Remember being impressed with Taz (I was 9) then he had no real thing to do after half a year.
    1. Remember “No way.” when I saw the “JERICHO” graphic. Lex, how did everyone know who was coming out, was this hyped? A silhoutte? I wasn’t aware of the internet or anything like that back then (obviously)

The Big Shows debut is one of my favs. That is one of my favorite matches of all time. But Y2J’s debut will never be beat.

    SC,

Definately the Internet in terms of people knowing Jericho was coming. It was widely reported that he had a meeting w/ Vince, so I think that’s how a lot of the smart fans knew. I vaguely remember WWE even covering the meeting on their own web site (since it was during the Monday Night Wars), but I could be wrong. I swear there was some kind of video of him driving up to the WWE headquarters. Anybody else remember that?
