Should Sting sign with WWE in 2010?

View Results

The word that’s been making the rounds of late is that Sting will stay with TNA until the end of 2009. There are even rumors that he’ll work a program in late 2009 with Ric Flair–that would pit a 50-year-old against a 60-year-old.

But what then? Sting has never worked for the WWE, but Vince McMahon has tried to sign him in the past. No doubt he’d like to get him on board for a DVD collection, and 2010 might be good timing for a short run for Sting culminating at Wrestlemania. In fact, a Sting v. Undertaker match might be a nice send-off for both men.

The question is, should Sting sign with WWE in 2010? I know that he’ll be over 50, but that hasn’t stopped a lot of guys out there.

Feel free to comment and I’ll use these results on the next PWB Podcast!

I’m not a fan of Sting’s at all but considering his wide following it’s only right that he gets a chance to be on a Wrestlemania card before he retires. So he should sign with the WWE for a very limited amount of time so he can wrestle at Mania and put out the his anthology DVD for those fans who love him so much.

Okay…the work in this match would be horrible!!! However, if this is all that’s keeping us from getting the Ultimate Sting collection, then so be it. Let the old geezer come to the E.

  3. jsnwwf Says:

sting should have signed with them this year

  4. SCMike Says:

    No.

We need less older talent, and more younger talent influx. No more old cats. At all.

  5. Arron Says:

I never thought I would say this at all, but I sort of agree with SCMIKE. I know real shocker!!!!!!! I always thought that the appeal to of Sting was the fact that he never did work for Vince Mcmahon.

However, if done the right way, and we all know the answer to how it would get booked, I could be okay with it.

But knowing WWE writing they will screw it up.

just bring him to face taker at mania

  7. Lex Says:

Yeah, we’re not talking about a long-term thing here. We’re talking about essentially one match at Wrestlemania, a four hour PPV.

  8. Cabana Says:

I dont get what the obsession with sting vs taker.

I appreciate it could be a great match and their both legends who have never faced each other. But what is it about taker specifically that makes him the wrestler of choice against sting? Why not HBK? That could be an awesome match. Or HHH? Maybe Edge?

  9. jmart Says:

cabana those have already happend multiple times

  10. Tracy aka T-Rack Says:

I think it would be great just to see two of my favorite wrestlers Undertaker and Sting go at it, that would sweet

  11. Jade Says:

I’d like to see him sign now. He’d fit in WWE way better than TNA. Plus, that frees up TV time for younger guys in TNA.

As for 2010, why not? It would be good for him and for WWE. There’s really no reason not to.

I’m not a fan of a Flair/Sting match in anyway, but Sting is an underrated guy. I’m not saying he should be compared to Flair or Hogan or Austin or whatever top guy from any given time period, but you don’t even hear his name mentioned.

Heyman on his blog said a lot of that is because he never wrestled for WWE. He was always on the second biggest program. Maybe it has something to do with that. TNA can not retire Sting the way he deserves to be retired, the WWE can give him a king’s send off it they want.

Sting/WWE is just wierd. Sting will always be special to hardcore wrestling fans…. no need to put him in WWE.
