The suit asks for destruction of Cena’s song and $150K from the defendants. No word from Cena or WWE yet.

I always knew that I heard it from somewhere, but didnt know what song it was from

Apparently WWE asked the wrong person for permission to use the sample :(

Lol I listened to Ante Up the other day and I was like “Damn, that was in Cena’s song!” But I thought that sound bit was like a “signature” of a producer (kinda like “D-D-David Banner” sound byte at the beginning of his song).

  3. SCMike Says:

Why the fuck is MOP suing 3, or 4 years after? If someone samples your song, you probably know you’re credited in the press release, or the CD even. Why are they suing 3/4 years later?

    313rd - yea, I thought so too…

I am too for destroying this song, the older Cena song was fucking amazing. You know, Word Life.

I’d also like to add to the fact that when Ante Up came out (not the remix, the original mix) I was 13 years old. When Cena’s current theme came out, I was 17. Now I’m 21. Point being, MOP trying to sue WWE over something thats been out for a few years is stupid.
