TNA Impact! Discussion: Big Things Poppin’…

Tonight’s Impact! is going to feature a huge storyline development, so be sure to watch. Here’s the preview from TNAWrestling.com:

PREVIEW FOR THURSDAY’S HUGE “iMPACT!” BROADCAST ON SPIKE: THE AFTERMATH OF TURNING POINT

This Thursday night, TNA Wrestling returns to Spike for two hours of Total Nonstop Action featuring the aftermath of the Turning Point Pay-Per-View event!

The below is an early preview of the huge broadcast. The card is subject to change:

- The big story going into Thursday’s “iMPACT!” is how the TNA originals like Samoa Joe and AJ Styles will react to the Main Event Mafia’s total domination at Turning Point. The M.E.M. won all of their bouts, leaving the young lions of TNA at a huge disadvantage going into Thursday’s broadcast. Is the war already over? How will the TNA originals react?

- Immediately following Sunday’s Pay-Per-View, Executive Shareholder Mick Foley told TNAwrestling.com that he had met with TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett - and the two agreed that there will be THREE huge title matches on Thursday’s broadcast starting at 9ET on SpikeTV! Who will get the shots - and who will defend their gold? Will The Main Event Mafia be forced to put their championships on the line? Tune in and find out!

- Speaking of the Main Event Mafia, they will add yet another member to the group this Thursday as - stipulated by his loss to Booker T at the PPV - “The Instant Classic” Christian Cage must join them! What will happen on Thursday when Cage is forced to side with Sting, Nash, Angle, Booker and Steiner? Will all hell break loose - or will Cage accept his new role in TNA?

- Plus, the broadcast will feature The Main Event Mafia’s “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner vs. “The War Machine” Rhino! Two of the biggest bad-asses in TNA Wrestling collide this Thursday night! Will Rhino be pulled into the war between the Main Event Mafia and the TNA Originals?

All this and much more this Thursday on “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV, including news on TNA’s “Final Resolution” Pay-Per-View on Sunday, December 7

I’m just hoping for another sweet Scott Steiner promo!

Discuss Impact! here.

Impact was good ! way better then boring ass WWE Raw

  3. DynamiteKid Says:

interesting. Sting appears to be getting distance from the MEM. They weren’t at ringside for his title defense and he wasn’t there for their beatdown of Christian or Canadian muscle.

    Altogether a solid show.

A few months ago I was at a TNA house show where Shane Sewell (the referee during the X-Division match last night) “lost his cool” and attacked Johnny Devine. I thought it was a fun turn of events as I’d never before seen a ref manhandle a wrestler like that. I know Sewell is a worker himself and I like the idea of a ref who takes no shit from anyone.

However, having Sewell attack Bashir really soured EY’s title win last night for me. I don’t understand how I’m supposed to take Showtime seriously as a threat to anyone when he wasn’t able to defeat Bashir without the ref’s interference.

I am happy to see EY get a strap; I’m a fan of his and I like his character. But to have his win tainted by interference makes it hard to take him seriously as a babyface champion.

I was also intrigued by Cage’s “induction ceremony.” TNA’s past references to WWE have only made them look smaller, and while I’m not sure I like them continuing to reference Stamford, I loved the dynamic and palpable tension during that promo. The crowd was almost dead quiet during certain moments, and they totally buried Cage. Really caught me by surprise (especially as I am adamant about not EVER reading spoilers).

    DK,

I think that’s a great wrinkle to the storyline. He also didn’t look very happy when they beatdown AJ Styles a week or two ago…

Big things poppin and little things stoppin.

Really, really good Impact!, I thought. The only thing that was really stupid was the Eric Young match. Not really sure how the TNA originals were booked to take it as a “big victory.” Young only won because the ref went psycho. Outside of that, the whole show was solid and booked toward a unified purpose. There are so many different little parts to the MEM/TNA Originals feud–it actually seems like TNA really planned it out well. Dynamite already mentioned the Sting aspect of the storyline, but I’m also enjoying the MCMG and seeing the dissension within the ranks of the originals. I also like how they have the outside players, like Team 3D, trying to get involved yet still focused on their own feud with Beer Money, Inc.

One other thing–the Sarah Palin stuff was actually funny. Now that I’ve seen it, it’s obvious that they were just making fun of her, which I’m 100% behind. It’s still a cheap PR trick, but at least I laughed at it. Too bad the only “mainstream” media they got from it was FoxSports.com.
