Tonight’s Smackdown has some potential, starting with the main event. Here’s a non-spoiler preview:
- Extreme Rules: Jeff Hardy v. The Undertaker
- Champion v. Champion: U.S. Champ Shelton Benjamin v. ECW Champ Matt Hardy
- Michelle McCool v. Maria (ugh)

In non-wrestling action, there will be an eventful Triple H/Vladimir Kozlov contract signing for Survivor Series.

Wow, that was the best opening segment I’ve seen from the WWE in a long while.

I agree with you jsn, it makes no sense at all. They need to put Deuce, Mike Knox and all those other shitty ass wrestlers on Smackdown and put Matt on RAW.

All I got to catch so far was the main event…it was great! I’ll go back and watch the rest of the show later tonight, sounds pretty solid.

OK, finally watched the show…the Jeff Hardy stuff is just awesome. Great main event, and also loved the way he broke up the title match contract signing. If Jeff can keep things together, I think they should seriously consider him as the Royal Rumble winner.
Also thought the Matt Hardy/Benjamin match was really good.
Oh, and isn’t it funny how even though Triple H is champion, the show never really revolves around him? It’s like the title doesn’t mean that much when he has it…I dunno, maybe it’s just me. If you’re going to put the strap on the guy, shouldn’t you at least try to center the shows a little more around his feuds and make them interesting? No one cared about his feud with Kozlov until Hardy got involved again.

YAWN.
November 15th, 2008 at 1:13 am
Seriously dude? Yawn? What more do you want from a TV main event?
November 15th, 2008 at 2:58 am
Oh no, not the main event. I couldn’t make it out of the 1st half hour of SD.
Yea.

Say what u want about mike ‘PS’ hayes….but hes a good booker GREAT TV MAIN EVENT!
November 15th, 2008 at 4:20 am
Is that why the show has been as stale as stale gets the last 2 months?
November 15th, 2008 at 8:29 am
That Jeff Hardy stuff was great this is exactly how they should be booking him.

Mike,
Wasn’t Hardy/Benjamin in the first hour? And how did you not like the opening segment?
November 15th, 2008 at 3:01 pm
It’s just matches thrown together for the sake of throwing them together. Iactually missed the first segment, I’ll catch it on youtube in a sec.
The reasons why I like TNA and ECW atm is for the matches building the wrestlers up. And further storylines. Or at least try to. I don’t know, I think it’s also because I’m so worn out from watching near 4 hrs of wrestling/week prior to SD, that I have less tolerance. (I only watch 1/2 of Impact.)
And to be honest, I only watch wrestling now to mock it. There are some bright spots here and there, but it’s all staleomania atm.

I’m with Mike on this one. Smackdown needs a serious infusion of new talent. All of the angles have become stale. There is no element of surprise and no chance a belt will change hands. Vicky is doing the same shit that she did a year ago, just with Big Show instead of Edge. Same with Undertaker. Those with talent are getting buried for no good reason: MVP and Shelton. The wrong folks are being pushed such as R-Truth. the divas are pathetic. It’s just a complete mess.

The Hardy promo at the beginning shocked the hell out of me.
I thought the Joker came to the WWE
good main event
I didnt like that Hardy was on Smackdown, even if he beat the guy that beat him for the US strap
