VOTD: WCW/Hogan Screws the Fans Twice
Written by jsnwwf on November 27th, 2008 in Video, Wrestling Industry.
Hogan is an ass! I had not seen this “match” before with Sting
I dont know what happened, but it looks as if Hogan wanted to win the WCW title over Sting and wasnt allowed, so since he has creative control he laid down on the mat, like Jarrett did to him(later years of WCW)
Wow! Just imagine paying to see Sting and Hogan, the 2 most popular WCW wrestlers of alltime(and dont say that Flair was as popular as those two in WCW) and the match happens like that
“Hogan vs Sting” at Halloween Havoc
“Jeff Jarrett vs Hogan” at Bash at the Beach
Same endings
Please if someone out the knows what the explanation or storyline was, then please tell me because I am clueless
Thanks in advance
Happy Thanksgiving PWB Universe
You too Kanadian, even thought Canadian Thanksgiving was a while ago

Looking at the Youtube comments (yeah, eww), cisco19 claims the first match, the one at the Halloween Havoc ‘99, was planned. So Hogan, believing there was a storyline and plot behind this, went out there and did the job as he was supposed to. Despite the Internet knowing and believing Hogan is an asshole, I’m not sure he’d sink this low, as to refuse to wrestle a match like that.
What cisco19 said: “It was order by russo. The storyline changed randomly that night w/c lead to an argument between russo, flair & hogan. Before the match began, russo told hogan that he needed to lay flat for the sake of the new storyline that was thought of. In wcw, storylines switched randomly, sometimes, what would go down would change 5 min before air time. Russo was also trying to bury hogan. But this was all script.”
As far as the Bash at the Beach goes, maybe it was payback for Hogan’s arguments in the back. It’d been a little over eight months since Halloween Havoc (October to July), Hogan still thought he should go over everyone, and Russo probably got tired of Hogan’s bullshit.

Sorry. Just read up at Wikipedia. Hogan was fired shortly after the match at the Bash of the Beach, and Jeff Jerrett was considered still champion.

The angle at the time was that Russo was the man in charge and could make the starts do anything. So he told Hogan to lose the match regular and Hogan didn’t want to, so Hogan went out in street clothes, whispered something to Sting, then laid down so Sting could pin him and win the belt. His way of getting back at Russo. The problem was that the cameras quickly panned away and the announcers didn’t try to explain it. It was a half-baked angle that came across that way. Typical WCW. The main event that night was Sting vs Goldberg in a non title match. Goldberg won and was handed the belt! WTF???

Sting(crow from 96-98) was more popular than Flair
