Bobby Lashley will make his long-awaited MMA debut on December 13, according to MMA Mania.

He’ll be fighting for the Mixed Fight Alliance promotion at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. No opponent has been announced, but I’d imagine it will be someone Lashley should handle pretty easily.

Lashley is signed to a contract with the American Fight League, but that promotion has put off it’s first show until early 2009.

The MFA show sounds like the type of the smaller MMA show that might end up on HD Net Fights, so if you’ve got that channel on your HD package, stay tuned.

Countdown To Wrestlemania 24: Wrestlemania 22

Written by sideshowraheem on Thursday, March 27th, 2008 in Uncategorized.

Tickets sold out in under two minutes for Wrestlemania 22 in Chicago, Illinois. Wrestlemania 22 marked the first Wrestlemania not to feature the winner of the Royal Rumble in the final match of the night since Wrestlemania XV in 1999. CM Punk made his Wrestlemania debut as one of the “gangsters” in John Cena entrance. Bobby Lashley also made his Wrestlemania debut in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

The World Heavyweight Championship match was a triple treat that featured Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton and the champion Kurt Angle. This was Randy Orton’s first time competing in the main event at Wrestlemania. The match at just 9 minutes and 18 seconds was the shortest for a world championship in Wrestlemania history. Rey Mysterio pinned Randy Orton for the victory giving him his first World Heavyweight Championship.  Mysterio at only 5′8 and 165lbs would go down in history as the smallest World Heavyweight Champion in history. Because the pin fall was scored on Randy Orton this made the third time Kurt Angle would lose a championship at Wrestlemania without submitting or being pinned.

In the WWE Championship match Triple H faced off against the champion John Cena although Cena was being booked as a babyface the majority of the capacity crowd was against the WWE Champion. After 22 minutes and 2 second Cena forced Triple H to submit with the STFU. This was the second time Triple H would tap out in the main event at a Wrestlemania the previous time being against Chris Benoit at Wrestlemania XX.

Confirmed: Bobby Lashley Quits!!!

Written by sideshowraheem on Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008 in Uncategorized.

In a thread in the forum area of Lashley’s official web site where fans were speculating his return date Lashley posted the following ”I’m sorry all but there will not be a Bobby Lashley return to the WWE.” of course the fans on the message board didn’t believe it was actually Lashley who posted the message despite the fact that is was done under an administrator account. This person claiming to be Lashley then posted this ”I am sorry to everyone here but I am serious when I say I won’t be back. Everyone wants to come here and hear the real story and I am telling you the real story. Circumstances which are out of my control left me no decision but to leave the WWE. I can’t go into details of this now but like I said before sometimes people will hate you personally and try to destroy you which has happened here. Evil has prevailed however like I said before if you continue your struggle doors will open around these people. You have not scene the last of me so please don’t stop your support. Add Bobby Lashley to the list of RECENTLY RELEASED!” After the fans on the site still didn’t believe it was Lashley he posted this “I feel like there is no reason to come to this chat room any more if nobody listens to me. People this is Bobby Lashley and I am serious, no surprises. I just wanted to be the first to tell all the people who supported me.”

Despite the fans disbelief these cryptic postings look to be true because after specking with Lashley directly Richard Gray of WrestlingNewsWorld.com is confirming  that Bobby Lashley is gone from World Wrestling Entertainment. Ryan Gray says that he was told by Lashley that the anousment from the WWE would not come until next week. And as for Lashley future he told Ryan that he’s training hard for a potential career in Mixed Martial Arts but says it would not be with the UFC. So it looks like we got another Brock Lesner on our hands, once again the WWE pushes the hell out of this guy and he just quits on them because he’s just not into it anymore. Maybe one day Vince will learn to push the talent that truly love pro-wrestling instead of just the big body.

Gone Til’ November

Written by sideshowraheem on Friday, September 28th, 2007 in Uncategorized.

*UPDATE* This poster maybe a fake. *UPDATE*

November is shaping up to be a good month for wrestling fan. First off the newly released Survivor Series poster teases the return of the Rated “R” Superstar. I wonder if Edge got to serve his suspension during his recovery time, or if he even had to serve a suspension at all.

Second it starting to look pretty surton that Y2J has signed a deal to return to the WWE. Take a close look at his book signing schedule.

  • Thursday, October 25 - Tampa, FL - Barnes and Noble - 7pm
  • Friday, October 26 - Lake Buena Vista, FL - Virgin Megastore - Orlando - 7pm
  • Saturday, October 27- St. Petersburg, FL - St. Petersburg Book Festival - 2:15pm
  • Sunday, October 28 - Fort Bragg, NC - XVIII Airborne Corps & Fort Bragg Base - 12pm
  • Thursday, November 1 - Boston - Boston University Bookstore - 4pm

  • Thursday, November 15-Winnipeg, Manitoba - TB

Notice Jericho has signings scheduled every day of the week except Monday and from what I hear the WWE tapes some kind of live show on Monday nights but I can’t really recall the name of it right now.

And last but not least remember this guy……………….

Bobby Lashley went down on July 30 with a shoulder injury he was expected to be out for 4 months witch would most likely put his return sometime in the late November to early December time frame. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Lashley put back onto the Smackdown roster because with his lack of mic skills he’s in danger of be overshadowed by HHH, Mr. Kennedy, Y2J, and John Cena four guys who have larger than life personalities.

Lashley or Santino Marella or Batista or The Great Khali?

Written by Lex on Thursday, July 5th, 2007 in Uncategorized.

Now I would like to know what the PWB community thought about is. If you could only have one of the four people on the WWE roster who would it be and why? Here is the reason for the question, I hear people bashing all of them hell I do it myself sometimes. But the one I could put up with is Santino Marella because I think maybe in a few years he has the possibly to be a star. He does have some wrestling skills a little talent on the mic. Which more I can say about Khali. And Lashley has the wrestling skills and no mic skills and Batista is all mic.

Who Will Take the Strap Off Cena?

Written by Lex on Monday, June 25th, 2007 in Uncategorized.

Last night’s “Vengeance: Night of Champions” was, in my remarks, one of the better Pay-Per-Views the WWE has put on in a while. But I noticed something last night… my focus was not on Cena during the 5-man Challenge Match last night. I was just looking forward to the match, until I saw him walk down the red carpet in Houston. All I could think was… “There he goes again, woth his spinner belt.” I felt an empty feeling, and found myself not booing him. I even cheered when that pop was made with Cena FU’ing Lashley through the ECW announce table, which was a good pop, I’ll admit. But now that I’m back to my normal “I hate Cena” state, I will name 5 possible candidates to “Take the Strap Off Cena”.

(This article is not a gimmick. I’m going back to my journalistic style, the way I do it best.)

5. Randy Orton: “Another Headlock Randy?” has obviously been on his best behavior since that disastrous European Tour, and he’s back in the title picture. But since last night’s 5-man was a huge clusterf**k which hardly proved anything, Randy should finish his revived “Legend Killer” storyline and challenge Cena before anyone else gets there. Since a Lashley/Cena feud is already brewing, I would love to see Orton take the huge heel role that Edge left wide open since his move to SmackDown!, and who better than Randy? (That’s why this is a backwards countdown…)

4. King Booker: The king is back like Hova, but he’s not throwing up the Roc… King Booker pointed out in his brief 90-second promo, which was cut very well, that he and the word champion relate. But what he fails to understand is that WCW disintegrated when it was purchased, leaving him in the fray. The writers need to show some nuts and keep him in the title picture. Booker has the skills, juist put him there…

3. Triple H: In light of the ‘Who Killed Vince?” storyline, Triple H will come back by SummerSlam, where the jackholes at WWE meet their “Jackass”. Leave Paul out of that, and give us another great fued between the current star and the legend. Now, don’t clone the Cena/Michaels fued to the bone, give Triple H the “Cerebral Assassin” motive again, bring something fresh. The Game hasn’t had gold in a long while now, and he needs another push in the Land of Raw.

2. Bobby Lashley: The last thing most of you want to see is a Bobby Lashley title run, but give him a chance. Face vs. Face is a rarity now in the WWE, although neither Lashley nor Cena are a Hulk Hogan at all. Lashley as WWE champ is something that can be a rollercoaster ride through the Fall season, and who doesn’t like rollercoaster rides (quivers with fear)?

1. Ken Kennedy: Because he has it coming, and he’s Mrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Kennedyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
(Kennedyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!)
