WWE Cyber Sunday Discussion: Undertaker v. Big Show

Written by Lex on Sunday, October 26th, 2008 in ECW, Live Discussion, PPV, Raw, Smackdown, WWE.

Tonight is the night that WWE let’s YOU, the FANS decide the matches! Yippee! I bet everyone is pissing their pants with excitement over Cyber Sunday.

Well, not really. I see two matches on the following card I’d like to watch:

  • WWE Championship: Triple H(c) v. Vladamir Kozlov; OR Jeff Hardy; OR Vladamir Kozlov and Jeff Hardy
  • Undertaker v. Big Show: Last Man Standing match; OR I Quit match; OR Knockout match
  • World Heavyweight Championship: Batista v. Chris Jericho(c) with special guest ref Randy Orton; OR Shawn Michaels; OR Stone Cold Steve Austin
  • Kane v. Rey Mysterio: Falls Count Anywhere Match; OR No Holds Barred Match; OR Best 2-of-3 Falls Match
  • ECW Championship Match: Matt Hardy(c) v. Finlay; OR Mark Henry; OR Evan Bourne
  • Intercontinental Championship Match: Santino Marella(c) v. Honky Tonk Man; OR Rowdy Roddy Piper; OR Goldust
  • Pick the Tag Team Match: World Tag Team Championship: Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase v. CM Punk and Kofi Kingston; OR John Morrison and The Miz v. Cryme Tyme; OR William Regal and Layla v. Jamie Noble and Mickie James
  • Divas Halloween Costume Contest

So yeah, that’s the card. WWE will also stream a match before the show on their web site where you can pick Shelton Benjamin’s opponent: MVP, R Truth or Festus.

Of course, the two matches I’d be interested in are Undertaker v. Big Show and, surprisingly, Kane v. Rey Mysterio. I’d like to see an I Quit match between Taker and Show; I’m not really sure what the difference is between a Last Man Standing match or a Knockout match. I’d like to see Kane and Rey Mysterio simply because I’m hoping for falls count anywhere–Rey Rey is pretty entertaining in those types of matches.

Here’s the requisite “Will you watch the show” poll:

VOTD: Wait, what did Macho say about Steph?

Written by jsnwwf on Wednesday, October 15th, 2008 in Video, WWE, Wrestling Industry.

If I had one question to ask anyone in wrestling, it would be to Vince McMahon and the question would be “Why hasn’t Macho Man been inducted?”

There are a few rumors  as to why he isnt in:

-Allegedly he made a move and Stephanie McMahon when she was a teenager
-He actually had sex with Stephanie when she was a teen[HIGHLY F*CKING UNLIKELY, WILL NEVER BELIEVE THAT ONE] Common sense cancels out that one!
-When Vince begged Macho to stay in WWF, Macho hung up on Vince over the phone and went to WCW
I heard that McMahon cried over the incident

ALL SPECULATION

None of em are good reasons, but these are what I have heard

INTERNET = RUMOR-LAND!

(UPDATE 9:52 p.m.) Here are tonight’s results:

  • World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match: Chris Jericho(c) d. Shawn Michaels to retain
  • WWE Championship Match: Triple H(c) d. Jeff Hardy to retain
  • Big Show d. Undertaker via KO
  • Number One Contender’s Match: Batista d. JBL
  • Rey Mysterio d. Kane via DQ
  • Women’s Championship Match: Beth Pheonix(c) d. Candice Michelle to retain
  • ECW Championship: Matt Hardy(c) d. Mark Henry to retain

Let’s face it: if you’re ordering No Mercy, it’s probably based on the strength of the main event. Outside of Jericho and HBK going at it in a ladder match, the rest of the card is a wash.

I think that’s mostly the bookers on Raw’s fault–they really haven’t made fans care about their part of the card. Throwing in a mask stipulation at the last minute for Rey Mysterio and Kane’s match is just a cheap way to get heat, and JBL has become more boring than I ever remember him being.

On the Smackdown side, I’m at least mildly interested in Triple H v. Jeff Hardy and Undertaker v. Big Show.

Still, I want to see a ladder match between Jericho and HBK more than anything on TNA’s upcoming Bound for Glory PPV, so my money is going to this show based solely on that match.

VOTD: HHH as Dean Douglas? Matt Striker?

Kevin Nash Leaves TNA?

Written by sideshowraheem on Monday, September 22nd, 2008 in News, TNA, WWE, Wrestling Industry.

It was all over the IWC that Kevin Nash was unhappy with the direction of his character in TNA but those rumors were swashed when it was reported that Nash negotiated a new deal with TNA last week and was expected to show at the next set of taping’s. But as of today Kevin Nash’s profile has been removed from TNA’s official website leaving us wondering did he or did he not resign with TNA. The deal that Nash has been working under is set to expire in less than four weeks so if he hasn’t resigned TNA doesn’t have much time left. Let the speculation begin! It’s no secret that Nash is still in good with Vince McMahon and of course his BFF’s Triple H and HBK would probably love to have him back in the WWE. But what role would be best for a “Big Sexy” return, hopefully not in ring. Maybe seat at the Smackdown announce table next to “Good Ol JR”? Or a re-teaming with HBK as his enforcer/bodyguard? Or maybe the more important question we should be asking is if TNA loses Kevin Nash and gains Mick Foley doesn’t that leave them pretty much in the same place they were at a month ago?
