WWE Monday Night Raw Discussion: Kennedy Returns

Written by Lex on Monday, April 28th, 2008 in Uncategorized.

Mr. Kennedy

Tonight’s Raw will mark the coronation of both Triple H as WWE Champion and William Regal as King of the Ring.

In addition, WWE is teasing Kennedy’s “triumphant” return to Raw. It’ll be interesting to see what direction they take him after he missed the King of the Ring tournament. Of course we’ll also see what happens between HBK and Batista after last night’s match.

I haven’t gotten a chance to sneak a peak at Backlash yet, but the reviews seemed to be pretty mixed. Sounds like there were some solid, if unspectacular matches on the card. It also looks like the Triple H haters are out of the woodwork again. I’m not that big a fan of Trips, but I will admit that he can put on a good wrestling match and will bring in the ratings. Also, he hasn’t had an extended title run for a long time; any guesses on how long he keeps the belt?

I could be way off, but I see them getting Orton’s rematch out of the way tonight (with Orton losing, of course). It’s time for a new direction.

On another note, I just wanted  you guys to know ahead of time that tomorrow’s podcast will be the last full podcast that I’m going to do. I’ll explain more on the show, but with everything going on right now I just don’t have the time I used to to devote to putting the shows together, so I’m moving the show format to interviews only. I appreciate everyone who has put work in on the show, and everyone who has interacted with me on it over the past couple of years. Ian and I have some great names in the pipeline for interviews, and as soon as we get some of the times solidified, I’ll do the podcast Q&A thing again!

Ten WWE Stars Suspended

Written by Lex on Thursday, August 30th, 2007 in Uncategorized.

UPDATED BY LEX

From the New York Daily News:

In a list obtained exclusively by the Daily News, top wrestlers Randy Orton, Charles Haas, Jr., Adam “Edge” Copeland, Robert “Booker T” Huffman, Shane Helms, Mike Bucci, Anthony Carelli, John “Johnny Nitro” Hennigan, Darren “William Regal” Matthews, Ken “Mr. Kennedy” Anderson and Chavo Guerrero were all identified as clients of Signature Pharmacy in Orlando, the site raided by Albany County and Florida law enforcement agencies in February for distributing steroids and other prescription drugs to clients who had not been examined by doctors. The investigation is part of a probe into illegal Internet drug distribution by Albany D.A. David Soares.

Those names are not necessarily the guys who were suspended, but they may be a pretty good indication. Only time will tell…

Source: WrestlingObserver.com

Dave Meltzer is reporting that WWE suspended ten performers today based on information that the company received from investigators in the Albany, NY district attorney’s office. While the names of the performers have yet to be released, it should be fairly obvious within the next week at least who some of them are.

Apparently the suspensions are based on information on superstars that were using Signature Pharmacy or another Internet prescription service prior to WWE’s implementation of the Wellness Policy. WWE has informed all talent that starting on November 1st the company will release the names of anyone suspended because of Wellness violations.

WWE issued a statement regarding this.

WWE® Statement On Performer Suspensions

STAMFORD, Conn., August 30, 2007 - Based on independent information received from investigators from the Albany County, NY D.A.’s office, WWE has today, under the penalty provisions of its wellness policy, issued suspension notices to 10 of its performers for violations. It has been WWE’s practice not to release the names of those who have been suspended, but notice has been sent to all WWE performers that names of anyone who is suspended under the Wellness Policy as of November 1 will be made public.

Show some love.

* Eleven. That is the number of straight PPVs where Cena’s music plays as the PPV fades to Black. ELEVEN.

* Damn, Orton should slap Cena’s dad just to reenact Edge’s actions from last year.

* Why is HHH acknowledged right away as a #1 contender? Way to go, HHH. “Nobody gets over HHH.”

* How many times will a WWE Title match be announced for Raw just to have a meaningless tag match or a non title match.

* Well, look who’s back! Glorified crack head stuntman himself, Jeff Hardy. And he couldn’t be more careless and sloppy.

* Much like when Jerome was beat up; I loved every minute of Jeff Hardy getting jumped. I <3 Umaga. My 2 least liked performers beat up by my 2 most liked performers.

* Yet another Kennedy – Vince segment teasing their possible relationship. Contrary to popular opinion, I enjoy these teasing segments.

* Hmm. Weird to see HHH with no DX gear. Or denim jacket and jeans. Or a suit. Or a title of some sorts.

* Oh no, did HHH write these? These are like DX skits all over again. Not to mention, Jerome Lawler laughing in the background makes it 10X worse.

* All HHH is thinking as he beats up on Carlitos, is “NOBODY GETS OVER”.

* WGTT/Daviari v. L&K/Rhodes. Why are we being neglected of a L&K v. WGTT tag team title match??? I hope WGTT can start a program v. L&K and Davairi and Rhodes have their feud on HEAT. Seriously, where is the “aura” this kid had? The “aura” that made him midcard level right away”???

* Oh, god. It’s Cryme Tyme. Eugh. One full year in the business, and they’ve done…EXACTLY! NOTHING AT ALL.

* You know, the premise of Cryme Tyme v. Cade and Murdoch is good. Now if only Cryme Tyme was at least a decent tag team that Cade and Murdoch could work with…

* When RKO slammed that door, I couldn’t help think: “Oh no, another hotel room wrecked by Tuesday…”

* Poor-a Maria! She’s-a not meant-a to be-a in the ring-a! Seriously, Maria is frail and to see her work in the ring, is kinda sad. Not because she can’t work, but because she’s just not a girl that should be taking bumps.

* That unconsistent-a son of-a bitch-a! Where is-a Santino!

* Bah! One McMahon is enough, but four. FOUR next week. WHY WHY WHY!

* If Sharmell and I had a one night stand, I’d hit that 3x. Because, that’s how I roll.

* At this point, I’m snoozing on Raw as it’s nearly 1:00AM. But seeing Cena’s dad get the boot made my night. WHAM! AL UP IN YO’ GRILLZ’.

More Details About McMahon’s Illegitimate Son

Written by sideshowraheem on Thursday, August 23rd, 2007 in Uncategorized.

Here are some more details about the McMahon’s Illegitimate Son angle as reported by Twnpnews.com.

As previously reported the current plan is for Ken Kennedy to be revealed as Mr. McMahon’s illegitimate son. If something would happen and the storyline would end up bombing, WWE has a contingency plan to fall back on. The plan would be to say that Kennedy “forged” the papers and lab results and is a con artist trying to get into a billionaire family.

The entire McMahon family will be involved in the angle with Stephanie getting involved sometime around October or November. This will then involve Triple H as he will come in and make the save revealing himself as Vince’s son-in-law therefore setting the stage for the RAW main event at WrestleMania with him as a babyface vs. Kennedy, likely for the title with the entire McMahon family somehow involved.

USA Network’s Bonnie Hammer loves the idea of the angle and wants another big three-hour special in October like WWE did last year with the Homecoming show. This will most likely be the show that reveals Kennedy as McMahon’s son. Hints will be dropped on RAW each week until that edition.

Shane was told that he won’t be needed in the ring until around the time of Royal Rumble. He will probably be Kennedy’s first family victim.(Source)

So it looks like it’ll be Tripple H vs. Mr. Kennedy at Wrestlemania 24 for the WWE Title, wow is it too early to pre-order? I think most will agree with me when I say this has the potential be the best Wrestlemania feud followed by the best Wrestlemania match we’ve seen in years if not ever(that’s right I said EVER!!!!). Not to even mention how fun it will be to see a Shane McMahon/Kennedy feud on the road to Wrestlemania.

Mr Kennedy…Kennedy tells it like it is.

Part 4

Kennedy admits that he knew that Benoit was taking “recreational drugs.” I was very surprised to hear this more than I was ot hear that Kennedy used it steroids before because he was REAL thin in OVW. Kennedy is honest and never dull, unlike like Cena. Cena ends every ppv the same way. Vince, give Kennedy the title at mania and promote Matt Hardy to ECW champ please!

P.S. Lex, is something wrong with your podcast equipment or is there another reason that there hasnt been a podcast in a while.
